MAN Truck and Bus South Africa (MTB SA) has been recognized as a 2025 Top Employer. Being certified as a Top Employer showcases an organization’s dedication to a better world of work and exhibits this through excellent Human Resource (HR) policies and people practices.

The Top Employers Institute program appraises organizations based on their HR Best Practices Survey. This survey covers six HR domains consisting of 20 topics including People Strategy, Work Environment, Talent Acquisition, Learning, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, Wellbeing and more.

This recognition is not the first for MTB SA, as they have consistently demonstrated dedication to creating an exceptional work environment for its employees. Their ongoing commitment to serving its employees is reflected in their innovative practices, employee development programs, and culture that fosters growth and success.

Executive Director of Human Resources and Transformation, Sarah Luthuli says, “In our endeavour to continuously strive for a people centric organisation, we are proud of receiving the esteemed Top Employer Award 2025. This was achieved through the spirit of MAN Strong Team. Thank you to all our staff for being part of the strong team, that contributed to this prestigious award and achievement. We will continue to strive for excellence in creating a conducive working environment for our people.”

In addition to being recognized as a Top Employer, MTB SA was honoured recently at the 2024 NAAMSA Accelerator Awards. Here they won the Transformation Award for Youth Empowerment in the Medium & Heavy Commercial Vehicle (MHCV) sector. They also received a recognition certificate for their significant contribution to South African society, particularly on development of local communities.

They currently employ 60 YES 4 Youth students with different vocations within the business (50% of this intake being female) and 35 graduates, 51% being female and 14 of them persons with disabilities. Additionally, the MAN Training Academy also has 64 apprentices, with 30% being female, working within MAN dealerships throughout South Africa. It is clear that MTB SA remains committed to creating positive social impact through its initiatives.

“We are dedicated to empowering South Africa’s youth and promoting gender equality in the Medium & Heavy Commercial Vehicles sector which is known to be heavily male dominated” said Jan Aichinger, Managing Director of MTB SA. “We are committed to creating positive social impact, create meaningful employment opportunities and fostering an inclusive work environment”

In a country grappling with high unemployment rates, particularly among the youth, MTB SA’s efforts are a significant step towards addressing this critical issue. By providing opportunities they are not only tackling joblessness but also contributing to the development of a skilled and diverse workforce.
